WHEN I read that your magazine had been around for three years I realised what I'd been missing. My motivation for reading the 'success' article was born out of cynicism - I expected to read the usual Oscar award-winning phrases thanking mother earth, hairdresser etc. I was pleased, however, to find an article which has inspired me to initiate my new job with the Scottish Drugs Forum on an entirely positive note. My opening gambit will probably be "Never take advice from me." Overall, the absence of kilts and shortbread on your pages demonstrates our ability to see our glass half full for a change - so eat your heart out, Helen Liddell. As for the suggestion of giving my free copy to a friend - sorry, I will be keeping it and also taking advantage of the special offer for subscribing.

I REALLY enjoyed your magazine when I saw it for the first time - most magazines are geared only for large cities. Would it be possible, with fashion, to put the prices in the range of the working person, as not everyone can afford the prices in other magazines for people with top salaries. After all, if it wasn't for people at the bottom of the ladder there would not be anyone at the top.

The editor writes: glad you liked the magazine. If you become a regular reader, as we hope you will, you'll see that we try to feature clothes from a variety of brands at a wide range of prices.

I THOROUGHLY enjoy my Caledonia. I only have one complaint - why do advertisers show us an appealing hotel and then fail to give the address or phone number, only an email address? There are still many people who are not, and possibly never will be, on the net and we cannot log on to anything. I can chainsaw into a log and find out about its inner depths and condition, but I still prefer to phone any hotel I intend to stay at and speak to the proprietor or manager and hear all I want to know straight from the horse's mouth.

WHAT a wonderful evening we had at the John Lowrie Morrison exhibition on the Isle of Mull Cal-Mac ferry from Oban to Colonsay. This was advertised in your magazine and what an amazing event it was. Being an experienced Cal-Mac traveller, it was great to see the ferry in a different guise. We had dinner in the restaurant (including Stornoway black pudding) and were entertained by an accordionist all the way back to Oban. I'm now the proud owner of a Jolomo painting - and as well as enjoying the articles in Caledonia I'm paying extra attention to the adverts.
